Dan Noble is an accomplished trial lawyer, appellate advocate, and advisor. He represents companies, directors and officers, and other individuals in sensitive white-collar investigations, trials, appeals, regulatory enforcement proceedings, and congressional investigations. Dan also has significant experience litigating complex commercial disputes in federal and state courts.
Dan’s white collar experience is broad. It includes matters involving allegations of securities and commodities fraud, market manipulation, cryptocurrency fraud, accounting fraud, False Claims Act violations, smuggling and tariff evasion, health care fraud, bribery, money laundering, illegal money transmitting, tax offenses, and antitrust violations.
Dan has successfully tried 10 federal criminal cases and has briefed and argued numerous federal appeals. He serves on the Criminal Justice Act (CJA) panel that provides representation for indigent defendants in their appeals before the Second Circuit Court of Appeals. Dan also has significant experience litigating complex commercial cases in New York Supreme Court and the Appellate Division.
Dan joined the firm after serving for seven years as an Assistant U.S. Attorney in the Southern District of New York (SDNY), where he served as Chief of the Complex Frauds and Cybercrime Unit and oversaw significant white collar, consumer fraud, tax, and cyber prosecutions. He also served as Senior Investigative Counsel to the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence (HPSCI), where he oversaw sensitive national security-related investigations.

Representative Matters
- Represented the CFO of a municipal energy cooperative charged with theft of federal funds by the U.S. Attorney’s Office in the District of Connecticut that resulted in a full acquittal following a jury trial.
- Represented the estate of former real estate executive in a wrongful death and fraud action in New York Supreme Court that resulted in a favorable settlement for the client.
- Represented the CEO of a Dutch company charged with smuggling, tariff evasion, and misbranding by the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the District of New Jersey and successfully negotiated a misdemeanor resolution that resulted in no jail time.
- Represented the employee of an international private investment group charged with insider trading by the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of New York and negotiated a resolution that involved dismissal of all insider trading charges.
- Represented a former employee of a large publicly listed healthcare company in connection with civil False Claims Act litigation brought in the Eastern District of Pennsylvania.
- Represented a former employee of a major home health care agency in a grand jury investigation conducted by DOJ’s Antitrust Division into alleged Sherman Act violations that resulted in the investigation being closed against the client.
- Represented the former chairman of the board of a municipal energy cooperative charged with theft of federal funds by the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the District of Connecticut and successfully negotiated a pretrial diversion agreement.
- Represented the Special Litigation Committee of the Board of Trustees for a mutual fund in an internal investigation of a $500 million mismarking fraud that resulted in the fund pursuing claims against its auditor and administrator.
- Represented a precious metals futures trader at trial in the Northern District of Illinois on “spoofing” charges brought by the DOJ’s Fraud Section and on appeal before the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit.
- Represented employees of a publicly listed Fortune 100 company in an accounting fraud investigation conducted by the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of New York.
- Represented the founder of a foreign cryptocurrency exchange charged with illegal money transmitting and money laundering in the Middle District of Florida and convinced the U.S. Department of Justice to dismiss all charges against the client and withdraw its request for his extradition.
