KKL is honored to serve as co-counsel in a lawsuit filed on behalf of former FBI Special Agents, Staff Operations Specialists, and Intelligence Analysts who were unlawfully terminated by the Trump Administration because of their work on the Mar-a-Lago classified documents case.
With over a century of experience among them, these former FBI employees served our country with honor and distinction. During their service, they investigated leaks of national security and defense information, thwarted threats and attacks from our enemies, and responded to critical incidents like the Boston Marathon bombing, the interdiction of Iranian weaponry intended for the Houthis, and the assassination attempt against then-candidate Donald J. Trump.
But in February 2026, they were summarily terminated simply for having done their jobs—as they always did—to follow the facts and law without bias or favor. To this Administration, this is an offense. To the rest of us, it is heroic. This lawsuit will prove their unlawful dismissal and hold the Administration accountable for this blatant attack on the rule of law.
The complaint filed today alleges that the DOJ and FBI defendants unlawfully terminated KKL’s clients because of their perceived political disloyalty to President Trump based on the work they performed on the Mar-a-Lago classified documents case. It further alleges that KKL’s clients were summarily terminated without any investigation, findings of misconduct, or the opportunity for a hearing or appeal. The complaint asserts claims under the First Amendment, the Due Process Clause of the Fifth Amendment, and the Separation of Powers doctrine. Plaintiffs seek reinstatement to their prior positions at the FBI and other relief.
KKL attorneys Rebecca Tinio, Daniel Noble, and Ross Gitlin, with the able assistance of analyst Ashwin Marathe, are handling the litigation along with co-counsel Koskoff Koskoff & Bieder and Lowell & Associates.
